November: I am Thankful for...

Day 22: Mom Wheeler

"Mom" Wheeler is my great-grandmother. I'm thankful to spend another Thanksgiving with her, I'm thankful for all the childhood memories of lunches and games, I'm thankful for all the conversations I'm able to share with her today, and I'm thankful to have someone like her as a role model.

Today my mother (note that I can't call her "my mom" or it might get confusing. Ha!) picked up Mom from Bolivar for Thanksgiving. After she got settled in at our house my friend Kamryn came over and we spent a few hours making TeaCakes. :) TeaCakes are cookies you make with flour, sugar, Cristco, butter, (or maybe it was butter cristco?) and a few other ingredents I can't remember off the top of my head. ;) You mix all the ingredients up, spread some flour out onto your table, roll the dough out, and take a teacup sized cup to cut your cookies. You put them in the oven for a bit and TA DA! TeaCakes! Believe me, it's worth the trouble! I'm thankful for being covered in flour from head to toe and for having this memory to carry with me for the rest of my life.

This is a picture of Mom from a couple of years ago. (My talented mother made a mice and cheese cake for her birthday!)
